This started off as a consolation costume. Llyra and I had come up with this great design, complete with embroidery designs and fabric swatches. I knew I couldn't get it done in time so I went with what was supposed to be an easier design. I couldn't get this done either so it's been getting done in stages. This is one of the best documented costumes I have just because I wanted to keep Llyra up to date with what was going on with her costume. Of course, she sews more than I do now so she'll prolly end up doing the original idea first. =) Check out her website to see some of what she has done.
I still have to finish the bottom border and bead all of that. I also have a pair of Phoenix style sleeves cut out to match it that need to get done. The hat needs to be finished as well. Then I can go back and finish the undersleeves that I completely messed up at first. The oversleeves could use some beading as well. There might be more to the dress itself but it's been boxed up for quite some time while Llyra is in Japan.
The farthingale is complete and I'm trying to make one for myself that will turn out as well as this one did. My first attempt was not so great, that's what I get for following a pattern. The corset needs a little finishing. It's the chemises that still have a lot of work to do but that's another page. =)
Llyra was kind enough to let me borrow this for CostumeCon 26. I used the sleeves, forepart, and caul from the lavendar gown since they were done and the gown...not so much.
